BULLISH RACING REFLECTS ON ANOTHER CHAMPIONSHIP YEAR

HACKENSACK, New Jersey (December 23, 2005) – With the year counting down to its last days, the Bullish Motor Racing Team is celebrating the Holiday Season and reflecting on a year that produced a record 5th team championship. Owner and driver Ara Arslanian captured his third consecutive NDRA XBOX Cup Championship, cementing him and the Bullish Racing Solara as the sport compact drag racing’s most dominant driver and car combination ever.

The Bullish Racing Solara, completed by C&F Racecars in 2002 and powered by a Turbonetics-turbocharged 3.4L HKS Stroker 2JZ inline-6, once again competed as the oldest ProRWD chassis on the circuit. It’s a significance not lost on a crew who have been constantly tweaking the Bullish Solara to go quicker than its original 7.00-second design specification. Arslanian and the Solara achieved the target much quicker than the team expected, becoming the first driver in the history of the NHRA to eclipse the 7.00 second barrier in an import-powered car at the NHRA Sport Compact Fall Nationals of 2002 (with a 6.98-sec/194 mph blast). The team and racecar builder C&F have continually upgraded the car’s engine and chassis as the Arslanian subsequently eclipsed the 6.9, 6.8, 6.7, and 6.6 second performance marks.

After a grueling third-consecutive season of 20+ racing events, the only team to maintain a dual full-season NHRA and NDRA schedule, the team put Arslanian back into the champions circle for a record third title and best of all – wrapped it up with a best-ever 6.53 second/213-mph performance at the NDRA world finals. The team finished the season with five victories and a third consecutive top-five points finish in the NHRA Xplod Sport Compact Racing Series.

“You can take this year’s championship away,” said Arslanian. “And this still would be the most rewarding season ever. That’s because I can’t remember another season where we were pushed to our limits more than this season. The ups and downs that this team faced this year are incredible. Yet, after 20+ events, this team still got the job done – we won races and we lost races, but more importantly we acted as a championship caliber team for another 365 grueling days. You don’t need a championship to tell you that’s something special. We’re happy we delivered another NDRA Championship to our fans and supporters, but the real joy is to be a part of a special group of people that act as one 52 weeks out of the year – this title is dedicated to my team.”

Bullish Racing fans were also treated to the competition debut of the Bullish Racing AEM Import Dragster this year, which has quickly asserted itself as the world’s quickest and fastest import-powered rail dragster.

As the first entrant in the NDRA’s Pro Extreme Compact category, the dragster has run at several exhibition opportunities in 2005 - putting the crowd on their feet each time. And while commitments to the Solara program prevented more resources devoted to the ground-breaking Turbonetics twin-turbocharged 3.0 L 2JZ Inline 6 dragster, Arslanian has already guided the Top-Alcohol-based dragster close to his goal of breaking the 5-second barrier. The dragster ended the season with a 6.60-sec.,195 mph best ever blast on the very last pass of 2005 – an especially impressive feat considering that it was running only on 5 cylinders after a spark plug coil failed on the starting line.

“Debuting and driving the Bullish AEM Import Dragster was a tremendous experience this year. This of course, was only the first year of a never-been-done-before project – that’s what makes it exciting. The fact that we got the dragster to go 6.6 seconds is beyond what can be expected and we can’t wait to do even more next year.”

2006 is of course a big topic among sport compact drag racing fans and especially Bullish Racing watchers. While the team has not announced its plans for the 2006 racing season, Arslanian and the Bullish Team have already begun preparations for their New Year agenda.

“There’s been a lot of speculation about what we’re going to do, but we’re not ready to announce anything yet. Obviously, the Solara program needs to be addressed – we’ve made the “ol’ lady” dance like no other her age and it’s a testament to the skills of this team that she has remained competitive for so long. As for what our plans are – I can only say this: expect a lot of excitement and the same Bullish dedication to excellence.”

“I want to thank each and every one of our supporters who have carried us to where we are. We do this for you, and cannot do it without you. I wish everybody a safe and fabulous Holiday Season and a great New Year.”
