BULLISH RACING WIN STREAK HITS THREE WITH NDRA VIRGINIA VICTORY

DINWIDDIE, Virginia (April 26, 2005) – Bullish Racing owner and driver Ara Arslanian matched his career best win streak with a third consecutive victory at the NOPI Virginia event, April 23 - 24, the third round of the 2005 NDRA XBOX Cup Drag Racing Series. Arslanian powered to his second hat-trick in two years behind the wheel of the Street Glow-sponsored Solara. Arslanian and the Solara logged a pair of back to back 6.9 second passes, despite challenging track conditions, to get by competitors Manny Cruz and Don Nase for his second NDRA win of the season.

"We're happy for the win," said Arslanian, the two-time defending NDRA Pro Compact Champion. "Even though we only had to get by two cars, this was one of the tougher weekends for the team. As usual though, they worked through it and we have another XBOX cup to show for it."

The cold weather and spotty drizzle combined with the fatigue of the team's past four - now going on five - consecutive race weekends contributed to a long weekend in Virginia. Inclement weather had Virginia fans bundled up (nighttime lows hit the 40's and wind was a constant presence) and the Bullish crew wrapped up in figuring out the tricky track. Weather and oil down delays finally pushed the final round of qualifying to Sunday. Complicating matters, the team had planned on using the event to set up new baseline tuneups for the Turbonetics twin-turbo, 3.4 L HKS stroker engine program. The contradicting conditions and goals lead to three straight aborted qualifying runs. The team, however, was operating within a qualifying safety net in place because of the three-car field; Arslanian finished qualifying in third place with an 11.128 -sec./83.12 -mph clocking.

The short ladder set up a first round battle with number two qualifier Cruz and his Inline-6 powered Nissan Sentra. Faced with the 'win-or-go-home' elimination rounds, the Bullish crew reverted back to tried and true tune ups, adjusted for track conditions. The StreetGlow Solara responded as predicted and delivered the quickest pass of the event - a stout 6.926-sec./200.50 mph performance to drive away from Cruz's 8.17-sec./158 mph run. Arslanian and the Solara delivered more of the same in the final round against Nase's Ford Ranger; Arslanian lowered the best E.T. of the weekend to a 6.908 sec./199.82 mph clocking. Nase's Ranger finished with an 8.33-sec./120 mph performance.

"Running the 6.9's here this weekend was really harder than what the numbers show. We're always happy for wins, but this weekend - we were just happy to give some six-second memories to the fans that came out in the chilly weather. Hopefully, it warmed them up a bit."

The three-victory win streak also completes a consecutive, four-event road trip. The Bullish run started with a 'W' at the NDRA's NOPI DC race, continued across the country with a win in front of a NHRA POWERade audience at the NHRA's Nitto Sport Compact Nationals, and wrapped up with the latest victory at Virginia. The continuous schedule has not ended yet; the team now heads back to their home track at Englishtown for the third event in the NHRA's 11-event 2005 - schedule.

"We're definitely enjoying the momentum and looking forward to the homecoming. The Englishtown Spring Nationals is where our Solara program made its debut three years ago - so it's always a special race."

The NOPI Virginia event will be broadcast on a future episode of SPEED Channel’s NOPI TunerVision. More information about the NDRA series and the event can be found at www.nopi.com .
